Abstract
The job stress of esthetician teachers are related to the instructor¡¯s health, quality of education and job satisfaction. In this point of view, we can say that it is important to analyze the job stress of esthetician teachers to further estimate and plan for the activation, specialization and circulation of the skin beauty economy. The result of the analysis show that esthetician teachers suffer mainly from the muscle and skeletal pain of the work. Following were stress from physical environment, job structure, individual relationship. Group relationship ranked the lowest. From these results we can suppose that the muscle and skeletal pain were mainly caused from overwork and repeatable actions. These pain were usually focused on neck and shoulder. Since stress from group relationship were very low we could also assume that stress from coworkers and superior were bearable. As spoken above, physical stress is the main reason of the stress, which can become the main reason of job exchange, loss of health, and drop of education quality due to lack of volition. It is necessary to initiate a health program to support the instructors. The job stress of esthetician teacher differed according to personal features(age, academic achievement, career). Stress from physical labor were shown throughout every age level. However surprisingly young teacher aged 20~29 seemed to suffer more than more experienced teacher. There seemed no significant difference on the stress caused by academic achievement. Relating stress with career, we could find out that people with low career suffered more from muscle or skeletal pain caused by the work. We think that these stresses were lessened with more experienced instructors since they started to adapt to the job and invent new know-hows. The job stress of esthetician teacher were effected by working conditions(average income, working hours, overtime work). The teachers who had an income of 1 million~2 million won seemed to be more dissatisfied than other teacher. We could find out that the stress from low income were making a synergy effect to increase the overall complaint. The working hours which were mainly 9~10 hours(day) seemed significantly related with teacher¡¯s stress. We could find out that the low income amplifies the complains of oneself in his long duty hours. These could lead to the teacher¡¯s physical and mental stress. Overwork hours also had a significant relationship with job stress. It was shown that 1~2 day of overwork days raised the job stress of the teachers. Likewise it had some influence on the relationship with his/her co-worker. From this study there are several comments that could be made. First, we could find out that instructors aged from 20~29, who have 5~7 year of career, have a lot of stress due to muscle or skeletal pain. It is urgent to educate them about exercises and programs which could loosen and relax their muscles. Also supports are needed to create an environment which they could promote their health. Second, a lot of instructors suffered from the lack of private space and low profit. More support and active care should be aided by the manager to improve these aspects.
